NORTHERN BOLIVIA, LAKE TITIKACA AND TIWANAKU
D-01: TIWANAKU Day 1: Transportation from the hotel, through
the main road, to Tiwanacu, "City of the Sun or City of the
Gods" (3.844 m.a.s.l.) located southeast of Lake Titicaca only
72 Km from the City of La Paz. In the morning we visit the "MUSEO
CAT" and the "MUSEO LITICO DE TIWANAKU." Modern facilities
where you learn about the Tiwanakota culture. Later we walk around
Tiwanaku and its major archaeological and ceremonial sites:
The Pirámide Akapana, the Templete Semisubterraneo, the Templo de
Kalasasaya, The Puerta del Son and Puerta de la Lunas, lithic sculpted
figures. |
D-02: THE SACRED
LAKE AND THE SUN ISLAND (2 DAYS) Día 1: Traslado desde sus respectivos hoteles hasta el santuario de Copacabana. Acomodación y Almuerzo. Por la tarde traslado en lancha privada a la Isla del Sol cuna del Imperio Incaico, donde se visita el palacio incaico de Pilkokaina, el jardín del Inca, después ascenderemos a las Mil Escalinatas de Saxamani donde se encuentra una hermosa fuente denominada “Fuente de las Tres Aguas” que representan: LA PURIFICACION, LA VIDA Y LA JUVENTUD. Posterior ascenso a la población de Yumani, desde donde se tiene una magnífica vista del lago y la Cordillera Real de los Andes. Retorno a Copacabana para tener una Cena Típica. Día 2: Por la mañana visita a la Basílica de la Virgen de Copacabana hogar de la famosa Virgen Morena y mercado artesanal luego realizaremos una caminata al Calvario donde será testigo del sincretismo religioso entre creencias nativas “Yatiris” y el cristianismo además que tendrán una vista increíble del Lago Titikaka. Posteriormente realizaremos una visita a la Orca del Inca ruinas de un observatorio astronómico de los Incas. Almuerzo y retorno INCLUYE: Alimentación completa, Pago de Entradas, acomodación en el hotel de su preferencia en COPACABANA, Guía en Ingles. |
D-03: THE SACRED LAKE - SUN ISLAND - MOON ISLAND (2 DAYS) Day 1: Transportation from your hotel to the Sanctuary of Copacabana. Accommodation and lunch. In the afternoon transfer by private boat to the Isla del Sol (Sun Island), cradle of the Inca Empire where we visit the Inca Palace Pilkokaina, The Inca Garden, then we go up to the Escalinatas de Saxamamani (Steps of Saxamani) where we find a beautiful fountain called “Fuente de las Tres Aguas” (Fountain of Three Waters) representing: PURIFICATION, LIFE AND YOUTH. Later we ascend to Yumani village, where you enjoy a magnificent view of the lake and the Andes Mountain Range. Return to Copacabana for a typical dinner. Accommodation at Yumani Hotel and later a typical dinner. Day 2: After breakfast we travel by boat heading
north towards the ruins of "Chinkana" which represent
a labyrinth-like construction, unique in the world. Then we visit
the Isla de la Luna (Moon Island), and the ruins of Iñan UYU, to
finally get to Copacabana where we visit the Basilica of the Virgin
of Copacabana, home of the famous Virgen Moren, the craft market
and then we ascend to the Calvary where we will witness the syncretism
of the indigenous beliefs "yatiris" with Christianity,
we will also enjoy an incredible view of Titicaca Lake. Lunch and
return to La Paz.

D-04: RURRENABAQUE (4 or 5 days) Day 1: Flight La Paz / Rurrenabaque (50’). Transfer from the airport
to the Hotel, filling in some forms to enter Madidi National Park
and receive information about the trip to the Ecolodge. Accommodation
in the hotel of your choice. Afternoon free. Day 3: Morning walk along the Tapacare path or another of similar
length where you can see and learn about the forest and the wildlife
surrounding you. Return to the Ecolodge. Time to rest or swim in
the lake (optional) Day 4: Short walk to the port of Chalalán to take the boat back
to Rurrenabaque. Return by boat (3 hours). Arrival to Rurrenabaque.
Transfer to the airport and return to the city of La Paz .
