B) 1. FOUR FANTASY DAYS IN LÍPEZ

Day 1: TUPIZA - SAN ANTONIO DE LIPEZ.- From Tupiza we ascend the beautiful Quebrada de Palala to El Sillar that has a fantastic moon landscape. Continuing to the mining areas of Nazarenito, Chilcobija, Cerrillos, Polulos, Rio San Pablo until we reach the abandoned village of San Antonio de Lipez, where one can obtain textiles and lytic arrows of the place.

Day 2: SAN ANTONIO - LAGUNA COLORADA.- In the morning the tour visits the colonial ruins of San Antonio, also known as Ghost Town, the Torreón, Laguna Morejón, Quetena, where you can take a bath in the hot springs of Chalviri, Laguna Polques to Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Volcano Licancabur (5960 m.a.s.l.), Then we cross the Desert of Dali with its fabulous shapes of ignimbrites. From there, we go up to 5000 m.a.s.l. until The ¨Sol de Mañana¨ geysers, volcanic craters with effusions of sulfur vapors and heavy water. Arrival to Laguna Colorada.

Day 3: LAGUNA COLORADA – SAN JUAN.- From Laguna Colorada, the tour crosses de Desert of Siloli where de famous ¨Arbol de Piedra¨or ¨Stone Tree¨ can be seen. Then it continues  along the "Camino de las Joyas" (Jewels Road) with a set of small lagoons: Laguna Ramaditas, Laguna Honda, Laguna Chiarkota, Laguna Hedionda, Laguna Cañapa, sanctuaries of 3 varieties of flamingos. The tour passes by the foot of Volcano Ollague (always active), Tomasamil (5900 m.a.s.l.), and the Salar de Chiguana to conclude the day in San Juan.

Day 4: SAN JUAN -
UYUNI .- It takes about an hour drive from San Juan to the Salar de Uyuni (3650 m.a.s.l.). On the way, the tour visits "La Cueva del Diablo" (the devil´s cave), Isla del Pescado (Fish Island) with its giant cacti, the first salt hotel, and an Iodized Salt Processing Plant in Colchani. The journey ends visiting the Train Cemetery in Uyuni.

Day 1: TUPIZA - SAN ANTONIO .- From Tupiza, the tour goes through the beautiful Quebrada de Palala to El Sillar with a fantastic moon landscape. Day 3: QUETENA – LAGUNA COLORADA.- Departure to Laguna Salada with a stop for a bath in the hot springs of Chalviri and then to Laguna Verde, at the foot of the Volcano Licancabur (5960 m.a.s.l.), the Desierto de Dalí, and then a climb up to 5000 m.a.s.l. to the geysers ¨Sol de Mañana¨. Arrival to Laguna Colorada.

From San Antonio to the active Volcano Uturuncu through an old mininig road, one of the highest in the world. By vehicle up to 5000 m.a.s.l., and then a walk up to 6008 m.a.s.l. (4 hrs. ascent, 2 hours descent). Return to Quetena.

In the morning departure towards Volcano Licancabur (5960 m.a.s.l.) which has an inland lake on its crater, considered the highest in the world (5916 m.a.s.l.) Ascent takes 8 hours. A visit to an Inca altar where rituals took place. The view is impressive, with difficult conditions such as low oxygen, low temperatures and high ultraviolet radiation. Then to the geysers Sol de Mañana and finally to Laguna Colorada.

Ascent the 1st, 2nd and 3rd viewpoint of the Volcano Tunupa (5100 m.a.s.l.), dominating all the Salt Flat (4 to 5 hrs.)
Downhill is the first Salt Hotel, visit to a Salt Processing Plant in Colchani and the Train Cemetery in Uyuni.

Day 1: TUPIZA – UYUNI .- By the northern route along the Valley of Salo a rock called the Poronga can be seen, a vertical phallic rock about 50m. The tour continues through rural communities such as San Miguel and Salo and then the climbing starts to 4,000 m.a.s.l through an impressive mountain landscape. Visit Huaca Huañusca where the last robbery of the legendary Buch Casidy and the Sundance Kid took place, then to Atocha, the sand dunes and finally Uyuni.


Day 2: UYUNI – ATULLCHA.- Crossing the Salar de Uyuni (3650m.a.s.l.) the exploitation of salt in Colchani can be seen, the first Salt Hotel, and then to Isla Pescado “the Fish Island” which is covered by giant cacti. Arrival to the Atullcha Village by the afternoon.

Day 3: ATULLCHA – LAGUNA COLORADA.- From Atullcha to the south crossing the Salt Flat of Chiguana the tour passes by the foot of the Volcano Tomasamil (5900 m.a.s.l.) and Ollague. Then it takes the path of "Camino de las Joyas" (Jewels Road) which includes a set of lagoons called Laguna Cañapa, Laguna Hedionda, Laguna Chiarkota, Laguna Honda and Laguna Ramaditas, sanctuaries of three varieties of flamingos. Continuing through the Desierto de Siloli with its unusual shapes such as the ¨Stone Tree¨, to finally complete the journey of the day at Laguna Colorada.

Day 4: LAG. COLORADA - SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA .- From Laguna Colorada going up to 5000 m.a.s.l. the geysers Sol de Mañana can be reached. Then the tour continues through the Desierto de Dali with its fabulous shapes of ignimbrites towards Laguna Verde, at the foot of Volcano Licancabur (5960 m.a.s.l.). The ascent through the Altiplano leads us to the border point of Hito Cajón where we have the transfer (10:30 am) to San Pedro de Atacama.

From Uyuni to the abandoned village of Coqueta. Ascent to the 1st, 2nd or 3rd viewpoints of Volcano Tunupa (5100 m.a.s.l.), where all the salt flat can be seen (4 to 5 hours).
At the end of the afternoon to Jirira to spend the night

From Laguna Colorada towards Volcano Uturunco, through an old mining road, one of the highest in the world, by vehicle until 5000m.a.s.l., and then by walking up to 6008 m.a.s.l. (4 hrs.) Quetena is reached at sunset.

From Laguna Colorada we go to Laguna Celeste, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Lipez area, where a walking takes place and we can observe varied wildlife such as suri, flamingos, ducks, etc. We continue through bogs (wetlands) to Quetena Village.

Around 4:00 am we go to Volcano Licancabur (5960m.a.s.l.) The ascent takes about 8 hours, until we get to a peculiar Inca place. At the top of the volcano, on its crater, the world's highest lake is located (5916m.a.s.l.). An impressive sight, with difficult conditions such as low oxygen, low temperature and high radiation. Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama.
